RIPQA in Practice: Youth Work Methods Training Series – Planning & Reflection + Ask-Listen-Encourage

It is crucial to have both Planning and Reflection activities in your lesson plans, if you want your students to complete the Active Learning cycle!  This workshop helps you to understand the importance of using open-ended questions to help students think for themselves and solve problems.  Also, you will explore the benefits of using specific feedback to encourage students to gain confidence in their ability to complete a task and overcome obstacles toward developing a “growth mindset”.  This session will provide opportunities to think together, practice active listening and encouragement strategies during group activities. The desired outcome is to make it easier for you to implement Inquiry-based Learning and complete the Active Learning cycle in all lessons you plan and conduct with youth.
